About Us
Black Box Power Systems is a company we developed directly from our personal experiences with losing household power, specifically driven by having no real cost effective options to maintain power to a refrigerator during a power outage.
We are a company comprised of twin brothers from Central Pennsylvania who have been drafting up product ideas for years. What makes this product line unique for us is that it directly relates to our years of experience in the energy industry ranging from Engineering to Operations to Maintenance.
Our product line was born from the fact that in September 2011, we both lost power due to a severe weather system and had to stressfully try and figure out how to save our expensive food products before they spoiled.
All the research we performed showed us that no cost effective products were available to support the basic needs during a power outage. Most consumers have no desire to spend thousands of dollars for a gas-powered portable generator or stand-alone home generator to manage a typical power outage that normally gets restored within 12 hours. Add in the fact of having to deal with the external fuel source, physical handling to get the generator set-up and the “hope” that it will work long enough until the power is restored.
This research and ultimate conclusion is what motivated us to develop our own product line to solve these problems. Over the past 13 years we have created multiple prototypes, tested each product and incorporated many lessons learned over multiple power outages to reach our final product, ready for use by any consumer.
We have selected and perfected the correct components to ensure reliability, safety, longevity, portability, and affordability. We designed our products to be a plug-and-play power pack that can be placed out-of-sight providing you with the peach of mind knowing that it will work when called upon.
